Townhall Times A shocking report has emerged from a government school in Delhi’s Mohan Garden area, revealing widespread negligence and mismanagement. According to videos and complaints received by Townhall Times, teachers at this school neither attend regularly nor fulfill their teaching duties. Instead, the responsibility of educating students has been handed over to clerks and IT staff members (computer operators).
When students approach the school principal or the Deputy Director of Education to complain, they are pacified and sent back, but no action is ever taken against the erring teachers or the principal. Some concerned staff members have even handed over written complaints directly to the Chief Minister and emailed them as well, but so far, neither the CM nor the Education Minister has taken any concrete steps.
The Aam Aadmi Party has been in power in Delhi for years, yet its focus seems to remain on promoting videos and photos of BJP’s CM candidates. Building their image through social media and advertisements appears to be their greatest achievement.
Townhall Times has received disturbing videos and reports from this Mohan Garden school, where students show filthy, dark, and foul-smelling classrooms. One video clearly shows a senior class being taught by a female IT staff member named Geetanjali. The scenes resemble a dilapidated ruin more than a functioning government school.
Attempts to contact the school principal, Mr. Amit Kumar, were unsuccessful — he diverted calls and did not respond to messages. Repeated efforts to reach the Deputy Director of Education, Mr. Devendra Mohan, also went unanswered over two days.
What’s even more alarming is that the school has become a hub of corruption. On July 29, a group of students even went to meet the Deputy Director in person, but no hearing took place. If any teacher or staff member files a complaint on the PGMS portal, the principal reportedly shuts it down at his own level. Some contractual teachers don’t even attend school but are marked present and receive full salaries — including commissions.
Townhall Times has obtained written complaints highlighting these irregularities. Earlier too, we exposed corruption in Delhi’s government schools. In the Shalimar Bagh constituency (which is the Chief Minister’s own seat), a principal, Mr. S.P. Mishra, was terminated for using fake documents for his appointment. Although he secured reinstatement through the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), the Education Department has yet to comply with the CAT order.
Irregularities like manipulated stationery purchases and scrap sale scams have also surfaced in the past. Despite all these issues, neither Education Minister Ashish Sood nor the Chief Minister seems to be aware — or perhaps they are deliberately turning a blind eye.
