Townhall Times | Raebareli Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, during his two-day visit to Raebareli, made a strong statement on Thursday, asserting that the opposition is ready to present “dynamic and explosive evidence” of vote theft. He said, “We are going to guarantee proof of stolen votes. The BJP leaders are getting irritated, but I want to tell them—don’t get irritated. Once the hydrogen bomb of evidence comes, everything will be clear.”
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the slogan “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod” (Vote thieves must leave power) is echoing across the nation. “This movement is spreading like wildfire because the truth cannot be hidden. Governments are being formed by stealing votes. In Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Haryana, elections were rigged. We even presented black-and-white proof from Karnataka Central,” he added.
Controversy at the Disha Meeting
Rahul Gandhi attended the Disha (District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee) meeting in Raebareli, where an unusual scene unfolded. UP Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, who had opposed Rahul Gandhi’s visit just a day earlier, was seen seated right next to him. On Wednesday, Singh had staged a protest by sitting on the road in Rahul’s route, briefly blocking the convoy.
Meanwhile, political drama continued as expelled Samajwadi Party MLA Manoj Pandey boycotted the meeting. He demanded a resolution condemning abusive remarks allegedly made against Prime Minister Modi’s mother from a Congress-linked platform. When Rahul Gandhi did not endorse the proposal, Pandey walked out, accusing Rahul of being “rigid and insensitive.” Pandey, who represents the Unchahar seat, was recently expelled from the SP.
Adding to the friction, SP legislator Devendra Pratap Singh and his block chief daughter-in-law Shivani Singh also staged a walkout, alleging that although they were invited, the district administration prevented their vehicle from entering the venue.
Rahul’s Janata Darbar
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi held a Janata Darbar at the NTPC Guest House, meeting nearly 1,000 citizens and listening to their grievances. Among the attendees was a differently-abled man who arrived on his brother’s back to reach the MP. He requested Rahul Gandhi for a tricycle, highlighting the everyday struggles faced by the marginalized.
